James Martin Associates (JMA), a full landscape service and snow removal company, provided long-time partner Winnetka Community House (WCH) with outdoor holiday decorating and lighting for the first time in their 108-year history.
“JMA has decorated a variety of commercial and residential properties in the Chicagoland area, so we were happy to provide WCH with holiday design and installation services,” said Cris Poggi, Residential Manager and Vice President at James Martin Associates.
WCH also holds personal significance to JMA’s President and Founder Jim Martin. “The Community House has been a cornerstone in Winnetka for decades,” Martin said. “I used to go there growing up and to this day, it provides important services for the community.”
In the past, WCH only decorated the inside of their building for the holidays. This year, JMA provided a 12’ holiday tree with 1,200 lights, two large evergreen containers, decorative garland and wreaths, and yew hedge lighting. Labor was provided as well.
“Since the decorations were installed just prior to our huge sold out Breakfast with Santa event, many families and children have noticed and complimented them,” said Bob Thomas, President and CEO of WCH. “The decorations were very well received and truly added to the beauty and fun of the event.”
Thomas also noted that the decorations helped attract individuals to their organization for the holidays, allowing the WCH to show its importance and relevance in the neighborhood, and generally helped to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
Because the response to the decorations has been so positive, Thomas said that “We hope to do this again next year as it is a wonderful show of collaborative support for the Community House from a vendor that we have a long-standing relationship with.”
