Spring Mulching

Mulch for your garden beds
227
A 2-4" layer of shredded hardwood bark mulch will provide additional moisture and a cooling effect for plant material during the heat of the summer.  While improving the general appearance of planting beds, mulch also reduces weed growth.  As the shredded hardwood bark mulch decomposes, nutrients and organic matter are incorporated into the soil, improving soil quality.  Amended compost improves the planting beds aesthetic value and also increases the nutrient and microorganism levels.  Plants love compost since nitrogen is the key element for a plant's leaf growth and development.

Our homes are one of the most important investments we ever make…it is an investment that needs nurturing. With proper care and maintenance of your landscape your outdoor area will be kept immaculate and beautiful while adding value to your home and neighborhood. "A good first appearance on a home can add as much as 5 percent to 10 percent to the value of the home," says John Aust, president of the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers. "

Your landscape is not only maintenance but consists of hardscape and softscape elements. Hardscape refers to the permanent structures such as patios, walks and retaining walls. Softscape refers to living elements such as perennials, groundcovers, lawn space, trees and shrubs. People associate a well maintained landscape and beautiful gardens as warm and inviting. A well designed properly maintained landscape gives an impression that carries through to the inside of the home.

Your landscape (your investment) needs to be properly cared for through a professional turf and plant health care program designed to protect your investment and ensure a healthy and more enduring landscape. The best landscapes are created to thrive and mature for years to come and are valued by you, your neighbors and your guests.
